MEDIA RELEASE – Annual Hike for Hospice Fundraiser Returns

Barrie, April 11, 2023 –

Barrie, ON – Hospice Simcoe’s Hike for Hospice returns on May 7th. This annual event is an opportunity for families and friends to gather and remember loved ones, celebrate friendships, and help raise funds to support Hospice Simcoe’s 10-bed residence and community bereavement programs. Every year, we welcome participants to gather pledges and join us at Sunnidale Park in Barrie to walk with family, friends, and co-workers in support of Hospice Simcoe. Our fundraising goal this year is $100,000.

This year Hospice Simcoe is celebrating 35 years of providing hospice palliative care to our community, and we do so at no cost to those we serve. We rely on our community for more than 50% of our operating budget or approximately $1.3 million annually and are very grateful for everyone’s support.
