We are thrilled to share an exciting update with our dedicated community of supporters, clients, and partners. After extensive planning and consideration, Hospice Simcoe and Seasons Centre for Grieving Children have united under an official partnership, effective April 1st, 2024.
The decision to partner stemmed from both organizations’ shared understanding of the complex needs of those coping with end-of-life journeys and the profound impact of grief. We knew that as a united entity, we could reach more individuals in our community and provide an even wider array of compassionate support services and programs. In essence, this collaboration was a natural next step.
What This Means for Our Clients
Individuals and families seeking assistance will receive support from our collaborative team of end-of-life care and bereavement professionals. By working together, we will make it easier for those facing an end-of-life grief journey to get the compassionate care and support they need and deserve.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the work that Seasons Centre for Grieving Children does, please meet 10-year-old Sabien. Sabien has been attending Seasons Centre’s peer support group grief sessions since the passing of his dad Ron in April 2020. Here’s his story:
“Hearing about other people’s grief helps me know that I am not going through this alone. I like attending Seasons because I like working out my grief, I get to exercise there, and I really like spending time with people I’ve made friends with there. I like seeing people there and talking about my loss because I think it helps.” Sabien Hill, Seasons Centre Participant
